Although we have contacted various key players associated with the Heroes at Home Act, unfortunately, we have not heard back from them. We hope to hear from these key players within the next few weeks. If we do not get responses from those we contacted, it would be appropriate to try and contact them again. We have also begun tracking the progress of this bill using the links available on the sidebar. The bill is still referred to subcommittee at this time, and has probably been delayed in deliberation due to the controversy and huge media attention on the health care reform act.
We still want to increase awareness about this important bill. Further steps we could take could include:
-Contacting local news stations and informing them about this cause and to draw local media attention to this issue.
-Sending letters to the editor to local newspapers regarding the importance of this bill
-Contacting more legislators and increase their knowledge of this bill
-Spreading the word electronically about our blog and increasing awareness of this bill by educating our friends and family
